About this tab
The DNC tab controls Do Not Call handling for the account: the DNC service and its status, your SAN and its area codes, the DNC addendum, the enforcement mode, registry scrub jobs, and the internal DNC list of numbers that must never be dialed.
The page has a tab bar with six tabs:
- DNC service
- SAN verification
- DNC addendum
- Enforcement status
- Scrub jobs
- Do Not Call List
A small dot on a tab means something there needs your attention, for example a low balance, an expiring SAN, or a scrub job paused for low balance.
Who can access it
Super Admin, Account Owner. Admins and Agents do not have this tab.
- Super Admin and Account Owner: see the service status, enter the SAN and its area codes, view the SAN verification history and the DNC addendum with its history, run and resume scrub jobs, check numbers again from a scrub job's Details, and view, search, export, and import the internal DNC list.
- Set by DialPro: the DNC mode, turning the service off, SAN verification, the signed DNC addendum, and removing a number from the internal DNC list.
Step by step
Check the service
- Open DNC and click the DNC service tab.
- Check the service status and What's missing, if anything.
- Check the Wallet balance. View billing opens the Billing tab.
Enter your SAN
- Click the SAN verification tab.
- Click Enter SAN details (or Edit SAN details).
- Enter your SAN Org ID, SAN number, and SAN expiry.
- Enter your Subscribed area codes (required), separated by commas, for example: 212, 305, 646. Or paste them (see Paste your area codes below).
- Click Save SAN details. Scrubbing is paused until at least one area code is on file. Changing the SAN pauses DNC scrubbing until DialPro verifies it again.
Paste your area codes
- In the SAN form, find the box Paste your area codes from the registry site.
- On the DNC registry site, copy the page that lists your area codes and paste it into the box.
- Read the preview:
- Found N area codes with the list of area codes DialPro read. Numbers that are part of a phone number or a longer number are ignored.
- Not recognized: 3-digit numbers that are not US area codes.
- Added and Removed: what changes compared with the area codes saved now. Removed applies only with Replace the list.
- "Check that N matches the number of area codes shown on the registry site."
- Click Replace the list to use only the pasted area codes, or Add to the list to add them to the ones already there.
- The area codes box above is updated. Nothing is saved until you click Save SAN details.
Numbers outside your SAN area codes
When area codes are on file, a number whose area code is not one of them is imported and kept, but it is never dialed, in both DNC modes and on every way of dialing. It is not sent for a DNC check and is not charged.
- Import History shows N outside SAN — not dialed under Success.
- The number shows Outside SAN in Lists & Import and on the call screen.
- In a List's Details, it shows under Held: outside your registered area codes.
- To dial these numbers, add the area code to your SAN. The block follows the area codes on file, so it lifts as soon as you save them.
Review the SAN verification history
- Click the SAN verification tab.
- Scroll to History under the SAN card. Each row shows Date and time, User, Action, Changes (for example Area codes added, Area codes removed, and Now), and Note.
- Optionally set From and To to choose a date range.
- Click Show more to see more rows.
- Click Export CSV to download every row in the date range.
Review the DNC addendum
- Click the DNC addendum tab.
- Read DNC addendum on file: Version, Date signed, Signed by, and Note. If it shows No DNC addendum on file, Lists imported with the scrub off are blocked until it is on file. Adding the addendum is set by DialPro.
- Scroll to History. Each row shows Date and time, Who, What happened (Requested, Added, Replaced, or Removed), and Details.
- Optionally set From and To to choose a date range.
- Click Show more to see more rows.
- Click Export CSV to download every row in the date range.
Check the enforcement mode
- Click the Enforcement status tab.
- Read Dial-time enforcement mode: Enforce or Off. The mode is set by DialPro.
Review scrub jobs
- Click the Scrub jobs tab.
- Each job shows the List, the Campaign, who started it, when, its status, and its numbers split into checked, already known, could not be checked, and not checked yet.
- For a job that is Running or Paused: low balance, click Resume to continue it.
- Click Details to open the job's popup.
- In the popup, click a filter to see those numbers: All, Checked, Already known, Could not be checked, or Not checked yet.
- If a finished job has numbers that could not be checked, click Check these again. Read how many numbers will be checked and the cost, then click Check these again to run it, or Cancel.
Manage the Do Not Call List
- Click the Do Not Call List tab.
- To find a number, type it in Search an exact number (optional)... and press Enter.
- To filter, choose a source: All sources, Agent, Manual, or Import.
- Click Export CSV to download the list.
- To add numbers, paste them in Paste numbers to add, one per line or comma-separated... and import them.
31-day DNC re-check alert
A clear DNC result is valid for 31 days. DialPro watches every List and tells you before its check runs out.
- When: at day 24 ("DNC check expires in 7 days") and again at day 31 ("DNC check expired"), counted from the List's last clear DNC check. For a List imported with the scrub off, it is counted from the import date or from the last Confirm re‑scrubbed.
- Email: sent to the Account Owner, Super Admin, and Admins. It names the Campaign, the List, and how many records need a new check.
- Banner: a yellow banner at the top of the app shows each Campaign and List that is due. Admins also see a line asking them to contact their Account Owner.
- Follows your records: the alert counts each List's records under the Campaign they are in now. If you moved records to another Campaign with Assign to campaign, the alert names that Campaign. Only active Campaigns get an alert.
- To clear it: open Lists & Import > Import History and use the DNC column on that List:
- To let DialPro check it, click Re-scrub list and confirm. This works on every List.
- If your company scrubbed it again by itself with your own SAN, click Confirm re‑scrubbed, enter the scrub details, and click Confirm. This needs a signed DNC addendum on file.
A fresh check restarts the 31 days and the banner goes away.
DNC addendum for scrub OFF imports
Importing a List with Scrub against DNC registry off, and using Confirm re‑scrubbed, both need a signed DNC addendum on file. The addendum is set by DialPro. When it is on file, the import shows "Covered by your signed DNC addendum." When it is not, the import with the scrub off is blocked. The Account Owner and Super Admin can click Request DNC addendum to ask DialPro for it.
Lists scrubbed by the client
A List imported with the scrub off was scrubbed by your company. These rules apply:
- What you enter: Date of your scrub, How was it scrubbed?, and optionally File or report name, at import and at each Confirm re‑scrubbed. The date cannot be in the future or more than 31 days ago.
- How long it is covered: 31 days from the latest scrub date, the one entered at import or at the last Confirm re‑scrubbed. A List imported before the date was asked counts from its import date. The 31-day re-check alert counts from the same date.
- In Enforce mode: while the 31 days run and a signed DNC addendum is on file, a number on the List with no DNC result is dialed with no check before dialing and no charge. Each such call is written as a Client scrub compliance event. After the 31 days, the number is checked before it is dialed again, and that check is charged.
- In Off mode: there is no check before dialing. You must scrub the List again at least every 31 days and use Confirm re‑scrubbed.
- Area codes added later: an area code added to your SAN after the List's import, or after its last Confirm re‑scrubbed, is not covered by that scrub. In Enforce mode, such a number is checked before dialing. In Off mode it shows Re-scrub needed and is never dialed until you save a Confirm re‑scrubbed with a scrub date on or after the day the area code was added, or until DialPro checks the number.
- Always blocked: numbers on the internal DNC list, numbers with a Do Not Call or litigator result, and numbers outside your SAN area codes stay blocked.
- Waiting for approval or rejected: every number with no DNC result is held in both modes until the List is approved or re-scrubbed. See Lists & Import.
- Re-scrub list: when DialPro finishes a Re-scrub list on the List, it becomes a List checked by DialPro.
DNC check pending
Sometimes a number cannot be checked during a scrub, for example because the DNC registry gave no answer. That number is:
- Not charged.
- Held from dialing until it is checked, in both DNC modes and on every way of dialing. It shows DNC check pending in Lists & Import and on the call screen.
- Released on its own as soon as a later check gives a result.
Only that number is held; the record's other numbers can still be dialed. Use Check these again in the scrub job's Details, or in Lists & Import > Import History, to check the held numbers again. It works 2 times per List.
DialPro also retries each held number by itself once a day for 3 days. Only checks that work are charged. If the DNC registry still gives no answer, the number becomes Not verified: it is not dialed until the next Re-scrub list, and the Account Owner and Super Admin get an email. Each daily retry and each change to Not verified is written in Audit Logs.
Fields explained
- DNC service: Whether registry scrubbing is active.
- Wallet balance: The service needs enough wallet balance to run. View billing opens the Billing tab.
- SAN: Your Subscription Account Number for National DNC Registry access, with SAN Org ID, Expires, and Entered by.
- SAN verification: Verified or Not verified. Set by DialPro.
- Subscribed area codes: The area codes your SAN covers. Numbers outside them are not dialed.
- Outside SAN: A number whose area code is not one of your subscribed area codes. It is never dialed.
- DNC addendum: The signed addendum that covers imports with the scrub off and Confirm re‑scrubbed. Set by DialPro.
- Dial-time enforcement mode (DNC mode): Set by DialPro. There are two modes:
- Enforce: Every number is checked before it is dialed. A clear result is used for 30 days, then the number is checked again. Each check is charged from the wallet.
- Off: No checks before dialing and no charge. You must scrub your own Lists at least every 31 days (covered by your signed DNC addendum).
- In both modes: A number on your internal DNC list, or flagged as DNC or litigator, can never be dialed and is hidden from Agents.
- Scrub job status: Running, Paused: low balance, Done, Failed, or Cancelled.
- Checked: Looked up in the DNC registry.
- Already known: DialPro already had the answer, so it was not looked up again and not charged.
- Could not be checked: No result this time. Not charged, and held from dialing until it is checked.
- Not verified: Still no result after 3 daily retries. Not dialed until the next Re-scrub list.
- Not checked yet: Waiting in a job that has not finished.
- Details: A popup with the job's numbers, filtered by result, each with its result or the reason it could not be checked.
- Check these again: Checks a finished job's Could not be checked numbers again. Only the checks that work are charged.
- Do Not Call List: The internal DNC list, with Number, Contact, Campaign, Source, Marked by, Agent, and Added. Listen plays the call where the number was marked DNC, if it was recorded.
